Board Member

Danny received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Colorado Denver.  He obtained his master’s degree in Spanish Linguistics from the University of Colorado Boulder, and he later completed doctoral studies in Spanish Linguistics and in Multicultural Foundations of Education at the same institution.

Danny has worked at the University of Colorado Denver for 38 years, and he has held numerous academic and administrative positions, among them:  Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Student Affairs; Director of the Hispanic Education Program; Executive Director of Admissions and Records; Executive Director of Student Retention Services; Director of Ethnic Studies.  Danny is also a member of the CU Denver faculty and teaches courses in Spanish, ethnic studies, and sociolinguistics.

Currently, Danny holds a post-retirement appointment as Director of CU Succeed, a concurrent enrollment program that offers CU Denver courses in high schools throughout Colorado.
